Traffic Tickets Handled Without The Headache

Most tickets are more annoyance than catastrophe. They mess with your schedule, your wallet, and your patience. They also come with court dates, rules, and fine print that no one really explains.

At Legal Ride, we look at everyday tickets as one more way to take care of our driving and riding community. We help our current and former clients resolve most basic tickets, usually without an attorney fee, so the whole thing feels less like a hassle and more like a favor from someone in your corner.

Everyday traffic tickets, usually at no charge

Many of the traffic tickets that people commonly receive were fully decriminalized back in 2023 and reclassified from misdemeanors to “civil infractions”. Decriminalizing these offenses meant that people could no longer be arrested and sent to jail for these minor traffic offenses.

We are regularly in court handling injury and criminal cases, so we’re in a good position to step in and negotiate most of these minor civil infractions with no fee for our time for many of the local jurisdictions.

This service usually covers civil (non- criminal) tickets such as:

  •  Standard speeding citations
  •  Stop sign and red light tickets
  •  Simple lane change or failure to signal
  •  Other garden-variety moving violations that are treated as civil infractions

Of course, you are still responsible for any fines or court costs that the judge orders, but for these basic civil infractions, there generally isn’t a separate attorney’s fee for us to negotiate with the Court on your behalf. That way, all of your resources can go to paying your court fines and fees instead of having to pay an attorney.

The Legal Ride team can only assist with traffic tickets in the following Nevada jurisdictions:

  • Las Vegas (Municipal Court Only)
  • North Las Vegas
  • Henderson
  • Boulder City
  • Mesquite
  • Goodsprings
  • Laughlin
  • Moapa
  • Moapa Valley
  • Searchlight

Why bring in a lawyer for a “simple” ticket?

For most tickets, the real value is in having someone who knows the process handle the moving parts for you. Every court is a little different with their rules and their requirements, and it can feel really overwhelming trying to figure it all out on your own. With us in your corner, you don’t have to figure any of that out since we handle all of it for you.

Here is what that assistance looks like:

  • We keep track of important dates

No juggling reminders or waking up wondering if you missed something. We monitor your court dates and let you know what is coming.

  • We go to court for you

In many of the local jurisdictions, we can appear on your behalf so that you don’t have to physically appear yourself. That means no time off work, no sitting in a crowded courtroom, and no flying back to Vegas if you live out of town.

  • We talk to the prosecutor and court staff

We look at your situation, your history, and the specific court, then work to negotiate the best deal that your specific circumstances will support.

  • We give you clear step-by-step instructions

When the case is resolved, we spell out what you need to do, how to do it, and when it needs to be done. Whether that is paying a fine or handling some other simple requirement, you can rest assured that you will have all the information you need from us so that you can complete your court requirements in a timely manner

Tickets that are not part of the free program

Some tickets are minor in name but serious in how the law treats them. Those are not covered by the free ticket program because they require more time, more appearances, and more work overall.

We normally charge a fee for cases involving:

  • Reckless or aggressive driving
  • Exhibition of speed
  • Speeding 30 miles per hour or more over the limit
  • Failure to yield to emergency vehicles
  • Certain no license, no registration, or no insurance situations, especially if they will require multiple court dates

Our attorney fee depends on many factors, including the type and amount of criminal charges that you were cited for, the specific facts of the case, and the particular jurisdiction in which your case was filed. We will gather all of this information from you prior to providing you with our attorney fee, which is a one-time fee that is paid up front. That way, you know exactly how much our representation is going to cost you.

Traffic Ticket FAQs

Is my ticket covered by your free program?

Maybe. Our free program usually covers basic civil tickets like standard speeding, stop sign, or lane change violations for people in our community. That includes current and past clients, friends and family, strong firm supporters, and folks we genuinely see as part of the riding and driving crowd who might call us for bigger problems later on. Criminal tickets are not part of the free program. We are always more than happy to tell you whether your citation qualifies for our free program if you are having trouble figuring that out on your own, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions.

Do I have to go to court if you’re handling my ticket?

It is very unlikely that you will have to physically appear in court if we are handling your citation on your behalf. In most traffic cases, we can appear for you, which means you skip the courtroom, skip the time off work, and skip flying back to Vegas if you live somewhere else. In the rare situations where the court wants you there in person, we will be sure to give you as much notice as possible because we fully understand how burdensome that can be.

Do out of state tickets follow me back home?

Sometimes, yes. Many states share information, so a ticket you picked up in Nevada can show up on your home state record, especially if it involves points or serious speeding. The reverse can be true too. That’s why people care about how a ticket is written and how it is resolved.

What happens if I just ignore a traffic ticket?

Ignoring a ticket does not make it disappear; it usually just makes it more expensive. Courts can add late fees, send your case to collections, and, in some situations, issue a warrant or suspend your license if you blow off deadlines.

Do traffic tickets ever fall off your record?

Yes, but not overnight. How long a ticket sticks around depends on the state and the type of violation. Some citations only affect your record or points for a couple of years, while others hang around longer.
